Cherry and Blueberry Picking

We braved a surprisingly cool morning to go cherry and blueberry picking in Kingsburg on Thursday.

The fruit was delicious, and Mary and David were quite the little fruit pickers.

Nothing like fresh berries to give you a delicious taste of summer. 

Strawberry Jam Time

Making jam is so satisfying.

Three Years

Mary is three and full of toddler fun.

She loves to explore and try new things; going on adventures is a favorite pastime, both on her own and with others.

She is great at making conversation and likes to talk about all kinds of things, patiently repeating and correcting if you don't understand what she's saying. She also loves music, sings frequently, and makes up little songs.

Her favorite thing to say right now is "cause why?"

She is silly and playful and loves to laugh.

Mary loves spending time with family and often asks to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

She likes to do things together and help out with everything, and frequently asks to "do something special."

She enjoys coloring, stickers, learning to cut with scissors, and playing games. Mary also loves playing with her little brother, whom she still calls "Bubba."

 Mary is a sweet girl, and we love her dearly.

Double Birthday Party

We wrapped up the celebration of Mary's birthday with a double party for her and Gayle in Modesto on Sunday.

We had dinner together, then strawberries, ice cream, and Oreos for dessert.

Mary got a bubble camera from Aunt Joy and the cousins and had a ton of fun trying it out.

 I couldn't resist taking a picture of the golden grasses on the way back that evening. I love the golden colors of summer in the valley.

Triple Birthday Party

We had a triple birthday celebration for Mary, Ezra, and Elias on Saturday.

We had pizza and vegetables for dinner.

Then it was time for cake.

Each kid got to choose their own birthday dessert. Ezra wanted brownies with sprinkles, Elias wanted strawberry cake with whipped cream and sprinkles, and Mary wanted strawberry cake with fresh strawberries.

 It was getting late so we let them just go for it and open presents at the same time. It was a great celebration.

Puddle Wading

The sprinklers left a puddle on the walkway for a few days before Dad adjusted them to water less. The kids loved playing in it.
