Lemon Ginger Marmalade

 We almost used up all of our supply of jam and were facing the shocking possibility of buying jam from the grocery store. Thankfully, we were saved because Dave and Gayle gave us a bunch of Meyer lemons from their tree, so I made lemon ginger marmalade.

Happy Valentine's Day

The kids got to open a special package from Grandpa and Grandma Kerr Valentine's day morning.

They were excited.

Joshua went to work a little later than usual so he could join us for pink heart-shaped pancakes.

Hannah got to have her first one and was a big fan.

Superbowl

The kids had fun helping me make muddy buddies for the Superbowl party.

Cam and Tiffany invited the CC staff over for the big game, and we had fun eating snacks, working on a puzzle, visiting, and even watching some of the game.

 Unfortunately, the muddy buddies were too popular for their own good and disappeared before halftime. Maybe next year we'll have to make a double batch.

Sledding with the Cousins

Dad, Mom, and Michelle and her kids came up Saturday for a snow day. We had a cozy lunch together before heading out.

It was Mary and David's first time sledding on disks, and they loved it. David especially couldn't get enough.

Snack time was also popular.

The kids decided to make a cousin train. They ended up getting all five of them down the hill together.

 It was a lot of fun.

Snowy Days

We continue to enjoy living somewhere with some snow. We did cozy baking by making bread bowls.

We love the view from our dining room window.

Mary and David have been having fun crafting with their matching craft bins.

We take lots of walks in the afternoon.

Four Years Old

David is four years old and quickly turning into a little boy. He has lost most of his toddler fat and is all muscle, which he puts to good use climbing, running, jumping, turning upside down, and moving in all kinds of ways.

He is becoming more independent and likes to lead us on hikes through the woods, but he still loves playing with people, especially his sisters.

David has lots to say and is getting easier to understand.

He has cute curls and a great grin. He also likes to roar a lot, and you never know when you might be attacked by a lion, dinosaur, or other fierce creature that turns out to be a self-proclaimed "nice lion."

 David is silly, fun, and happy. We are so glad he's part of our family!

Double Birthday Dinner

We had birthday dinner for Heather and David Sunday. Hannah is in the phase that all the kids have gone through of raiding the tea drawer and dumping out all the tea bags.

 We had strawberry shortcake for birthday dessert.

David's Birthday

We kicked off David's birthday with monkey bread for breakfast followed by opening presents.

Mid-morning, we headed down to my parents' house for the weekend.

Ezra and Elias were staying with Mom and Dad for the weekend too while Jonah, Michelle, and Emery were at winter camp.

 We had birthday dinner and cake for David that evening. It was fun to celebrate with our sweet little guy.

Hannah Walking

Hannah has been taking occasional steps, but still getting around by crawling or walking on her knees. She made a big leap tonight though by walking all the way around the living room and kitchen.

Backyard Fires and Cooking

David and Mary built fires in the backyard and cooked up quite a feast.
