Sometimes it's the little things, like watching for big trucks.

Two Months

 Sweet David is now two months old. He is growing well and a delightful baby.

He is good at tummy time and usually likes it well enough.

 David is becoming more alert and likes to check out the things going on around him.

He is starting to smile and occasionally gives us big grins. We all love him and love having him around.

Cooking on the Couch

Mary has been working on some involved cooking projects lately.

Make Your Own Masks

Joshua thought that homemade masks would be a good memento of this crazy time, so he found a pattern and I made them. I made a little one for Mary too just for fun. We thought it was appropriate that I happened to have fabric that looks like it matches scrubs.

Lettuce Seeds

Mary and I enjoyed planting lettuce seeds in the greenhouse.

Spring Flowers

We've been enjoying lovely walks in the warm sunshine and admiring the flowers blooming.

Mary is transitioning away from naps, but sometimes she doesn't quite make it through the day.

Sugar Cookies

Mary helped make her first batch of sugar cookies. We mixed up the dough Saturday, rolled and baked cookies Sunday, and iced them Monday, so it was a three day project but we had fun.

Sweet Snuggles

One Month

 David is one month old!

Mary helped me with the photoshoot.

David is a sweet little guy. He loves being held, especially mostly upright, and is generally pretty content. 

He can already lift his head up briefly on his tummy and likes to lift his head up and look around if you hold against your chest or in the baby carrier, so you have to be ready to support him when he loses control.

He is a wonderful addition to our family and we couldn't be happier to have him.

Little Prep Chef

Mary loves helping in the kitchen. It started with making coffee with Joshua, but now she also likes to help me cook. We haven't done much together in the kitchen for awhile because I haven't been cooking, but we had a great time prepping asparagus for dinner the other day. She learned how to snap them into little pieces and thought it was great fun.

We've also been enjoying the view from the kitchen as our daffodils are blooming.

Mom to the Rescue

Okay, so we didn't actually need rescuing, but there's nothing like having a baby to make you want your mom around. Mom stayed for a week after the rest of the family left, and it was sure nice to have her company and help.

David took everything in stride, but I think he liked the extra attention with Grandma around too.

Thursday was Mom's birthday and we were honored to celebrate with her by having a special dinner and creme brulee for dessert.

Just before leaving, Mom hid notes from Natalie, Emery, and Ezra around the house. It was so fun to find them over the next couple days.
