Ten Months

 

David is ten months old and as charming as ever.

He gets around quickly by crawling, but he's also an expert cruiser and loves being on his feet.

David recently discovered the fun of playing chase and loves to crawl away from or after us. He looks back over his shoulder and laughs and laughs.

He laughs a lot in general and is pretty happy except when he feels like he isn't getting enough attention.

He recently started waving bye bye and is making all kinds of different sounds.

David is so sweet, and we couldn't be happier that he's part of the family.

The Hunt

Friday we had our traditional Christmas tree hunt and found some real beauties.

Mary and I helped Dad start putting up the lights outside.

Everyone came back out to Mom and Dad's house Saturday. Joshua and Natalie made a batch of shortbread cookies.

Mom had pajamas for all the kids ready to give them.

That evening we decorated the tree and enjoyed eggnog made by Isaac.

We returned home Sunday with a stop on the way to see Dave and Gayle again and enjoy Mr. T's donuts.

Two Thanksgivings

We kicked off Thanksgiving on Tuesday with Dave and Gayle. Dave deep fried the turkey, and it was probably the best turkey I've ever had. Everything else was good too, particularly the pecan pie and tea of good tidings to kick off the holiday season.

The following day we met up with my family for our turkey trot. The race was virtual this year, not as exciting but we still had fun.

We planned a group photo on Thanksgiving day and took advantage of the opportunity for a photo shoot.

 We finished off the celebration with another delicious dinner and more pie.

Dessert Week

My dessert week bake was cheesecake, yum!

 I also tried another (almost) no knead bread recipe with much better success.

Yardwork Fun

 

Even with the cold weather, Mary loves spending time outside whether she's collecting rainwater in her loaf pan or helping me rake leaves.

Nine Months

Our little boy keeps growing and changing; he is nine months old now.

He's talking more and more and makes all kinds of interesting sounds including lots of little roars like a baby dinosaur.

No more belly crawling for David. He crawls on his hands and knees all the time now and is fast. This might sound like a difficulty, but it's actually been really nice as he learned to crawl. He loves the freedom it gives him and is generally happier hanging out on his own or checking out what other people are doing.

He also likes to rock, either forward and backward on his hands and knees or up and down when he's standing.

He loves looking out the back door, especially when Mary is on the other side.

David wants to be part of whatever is happening around him.

He is so much fun and makes us laugh often.
