Build Your Body

Mary has been interested in learning about her body lately, so we started a project that I remember doing as a child -- making your body. We started by tracing the kids on butcher paper, then they colored brains while I cut out the bodies.

Mary thought it was great.

We got the brain and the heart put on the bodies.

Mary loved the activity and was pleased with the results. She's already excited to add more organs soon.

Happy Campers

Mary and David wore the new shirts they got from Grandpa and Grandma Kerr and looked adorable.

They were like two peas in a pod when we went on a walk after dinner.

Party Shopping

We went grocery shopping with Dad, Mom, and Heather yesterday. Mary got to shop with Aunt Heather and picked out a big pumpkin for her.

Roasting Dinner

 We had a firepit Sunday and roasted hot dogs for dinner.

 We had a break from the smoke and a cooler afternoon that was delightful for playing outside.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

We had hamburgers for dinner to say goodbye to summer and then had pumpkin pancakes the following day for dinner to welcome fall on the first day of autumn.

Soccer Saturday

We went to see the Nickell and Trevino kids play soccer on Saturday. Mary and David had fun playing with Emery during the first game.

Elias was up first, followed by Ezra and Emery who both had games at 11:00.

It was comfortable in the shade and the games were bunched together, so it was a nice day to watch soccer.

 We had a picnic lunch during Natalie's game, then watched Evan and Micah's team play.

 We had lunch and hung out with Michelle and the kids yesterday, which included some time in a big box.

Mary was excited to take apart and put back together the model that Heather let us borrow.

Labor Day Adventure

We decided to go on a little adventure since Joshua had Monday off. We started off by picking up doughnuts and taking them to have breakfast with the Nickells.

Mary is interested in the body and keeps asking, "What else is inside my body?" So we borrowed some body books from Heather, which led to comparing scars.

We drove up to Calvin Crest, arriving in time to have a picnic lunch in Sherwood.

It was pretty warm, but comfortable in the shade.

We went on a walk by the lake, then let the kids run around on the grass while we sat in the shade and talked.

It was peaceful and quiet.

The kids had a blast.

We went on a short walk up to Eastview to look for blackberries. There weren't many but we did find some apples in the apple orchard.

David got a hold of an apple and ate his first whole apple. He loved it and walked around taking bites for a long time.

Mary was excited to help drive again and is getting good at steering on her own.

We went back down to Sherwood to explore a little.

We had fun on the little ropes course.

Back up at main camp, we had a picnic dinner.

The kids were pretty dirty, so we found a hose and rinsed them off before putting them in pajamas and heading down the mountain.
