Playing in the Rain

It rained yesterday for a lot of the day. It was pretty windy and stormy at times. I loved it.

The kids had fun running outside to check out the rain.

 Mary went back out later to play because she loves the rain.

Smashing Pumpkin

The guys started a new batch of beer yesterday. It was Smashing Pumpkin Ale, and they used fresh pumpkin during the brewing.

Mary helped them smash the pumpkin.

Soccer Saturday

We headed to Visalia yesterday for soccer Saturday.

We had fun hanging out with everyone and watching the games.

The kids got to play a little soccer with the cousins.

Paper Bodies

We finished putting organs in the bodies.

Nature Walk Round Two

Michelle and the kids came over yesterday, and we went to Dry Creek Preserve after lunch.

It was another nice day and good walk.

Nature Walk

We met up with Michelle and the kids at the Kaweah Oaks Preserve yesterday for an afternoon walk. It was a lovely day and perfect for a stroll through a pretty area. There were grapevines along the trail that still had grapes on them. They had seeds but were sweet.

We had to hurry back a bit to get bread in the oven, but it was a pleasant outing.

Bubbles

Gayle came down for the day yesterday, and we had a lot of fun. We spent time outside in the afternoon enjoying the quiet and comfortable weather. The kids were particularly excited when we got out the bubble wand.

They both loved running around with it making bubbles, although David mostly ran around by spinning in circles.

Wave of Light

 We lit a candle last night as part of the global Wave of Light to culminate Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness week.

Cousin Overnight

The Trevino kids spent the night with us while Jonah and Michelle went to game five of the playoffs between the Dodgers and Giants. The kids found the toy catalog right away.

We watched the game from the comfort of the couch.

Mom got a lot of help mixing up ingredients for pumpkin pancakes.

Outdoor Time

The smoke cleared enough for us to enjoy time outside this week, and the weather has been great.

Happy Birthdays

We celebrated Joshua and Michelle's birthdays on Sunday. The Nickells made Mediterranean food for dinner and I made cheesecake and lemon cupcakes for dessert.

We did candles for Michelle on one side and candles for Joshua on the other.

Joshua's birthday was yesterday, so we started the day with monkey bread for breakfast.

 He had to work all day since it was Monday, but we finished the celebration with calzone for dinner, blueberry pie for dessert, presents, and playing a new game.
