Christmas

Dave, Gayle, Joy, and the kids came down Friday to spend the night and celebrate Christmas.

Saturday morning we read the Christmas story from Luke and opened presents.

We finished things off with a delicious brunch.

Christmas morning we had breakfast and opened presents together before church. Mary and David helped Hannah open her gift.

After church, we gathered at Mom and Dad's house.

Isaac's box of hot sauces was interesting to everyone.

Natalie gave Mary and David bubble guns.

 

We finally got to give Dad and Mom the handprint quilt we made for them. We finished the day off with dinner and pie.

Cookie Decorating

We had fun decorating gingerbread and sugar cookies after dinner on Sunday.

Three Peas in a Pod

Mary and David love Hannah and like to touch her and play with her. She likes them too and often quiets down if they come over to comfort her when she's crying.

One Month

Little Hannah is one month old and growing like crazy.

She is starting to smile already and even starting to roll a little; she's made it onto her side a couple of times.

She likes to be snuggled and loves looking at faces, especially Mary and David's when they get down next to her.

 We are all so happy to have her in our family!

I gave Hannah the quilt I made for her.

A Helper's Helpers

Dave came back to help again on Monday and Tuesday. The kids loved helping him in the kitchen.

 We harvested and ate a watermelon from our yard. It wasn't great, but it was better than I expected and was fun to eat our own watermelon.

The First Sunday of Advent

We had a busy evening on Sunday. Mom gave all the kids the matching pajamas she made them this year.

Joshua and Natalie made the first shortbread cookies of the season.

 We finished things off by decorating the tree and drinking Isaac's homemade eggnog.

Thanksgiving

We had a lovely time celebrating Thanksgiving.

Mary and David got to help Gayle make pies on Wednesday. They each made a little treat of their own to bake.

We had French toast and homemade bacon for breakfast on Thanksgiving; Mary and David even got whipped cream on theirs.

Hannah seemed to enjoy her first Thanksgiving.

Gayle started making ornaments with the kids.

Even Hannah did one.

We enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast, complete with Joshua's first smoked turkey, followed by pie and Tea of Good Tidings before Dave and Gayle headed back to Modesto.

We made it out to my parent's house in time to have dinner and pie with everyone there.

Friday we had our traditional Christmas tree hunt where we all enjoyed smelling the trees.

Hannah Ann

Hannah is a precious baby, and we all love her. Mary often says, "I love her, I love her so much."

We had a newborn photoshoot to try to capture some of her cuteness.

All her little baby sounds and movements are so cute, like her little yawns.
