February Happenings

The kids helped me remove the massive tomato plant from our backyard in preparation for spring planting.

We had fun looking at all the animals at the pet store and picked out a fish to bring home.

We named him Eugene, and we love having a fish.

David built a house for the dinosaurs he got for his birthday.

The kids baked cookies with Natalie.

Mary and David read stories together.

They also did some backyard cooking.

We had pink heart-shaped pancakes for Valentine's Day.

We made bread together.

 

Double Birthday Dinner

We had a birthday dinner for Heather and David on Monday.

Heather had lots of help opening her gifts.

 We finished things off with the cheesecake I made for dessert.

David's Third Birthday

David turned three on the third! We started the day with monkey bread for birthday breakfast.

David and Mary helped frost the cake.

We opened presents before dinner so there would be a little time for playing.

 David chose macaroni for his birthday dinner with cake for dessert. It was a great day celebrating a great boy.

Three Years

David is three years old and as active as ever. He loves to wrestle, climb, and jump, but also loves to snuggle and give kiss attacks.

David can count to five and is starting to put words together to form short sentences like "More food please Mama."

He likes tigers, dinosaurs, sharks, and pretty much anything that roars or has sharp teeth or both.

He enjoys building things like mountains of pillows or Lego creations.

David is a good eater and loves to announce that it's "eat time."

He is a wonderful little guy!

Three Months

Hannah is now three months old and getting more charming by the day.

She likes to play and loves smiling at people. She is also becoming more conversational with her noises.

She usually enjoys getting her diaper changed and will happily hangout on the changing table after she's clean and look around and talk.

Hannah loves attention and wants to be part of the things going on around her. She likes to sit on our laps at the table so she can be with everyone for meal times.

She has rolled over, but mostly stays on her back or rolls to her side.

 

We are thrilled to have Hannah around; her biggest danger is getting smothered with affection.

Planting Trees

The stick trees I ordered finally arrived, and we had fun planting them.

Two Months

 

Sweet little Hannah is two months old now.

She is interested in things around her and loves to look at her hands, faces, her reflection in a mirror, and the monkeys on the mobile above her swing. She also loves her swing.

She still doesn't like tummy time most of the time, but is good at lifting up her head and sometimes rolls onto her side.

She is smiling now and gives us big grins.

Hannah is growing well and continues to impress with her size - her height at her two month checkup was in the 99th percentile.

We are delighted to watch Hannah grow and continue to get to know her.

Yard Tools

David and Mary got yard tools for Christmas. They were excited to try them out, especially after the rain softened their area for digging.

New Year's Eve

Hannah discovered her hands and finds them fascinating.

We gathered at Dad and Mom's house Saturday for our traditional NYE party. Isaac brought stuff to make smoke-infused whiskey.

Dad got a challenging puzzle for the party.

We watched the ball drop and toasted the new year east coast time so that Joshua and I could get our kids (and ourselves) home and to bed.
