High School Camp

Back to camp we went Sunday, this time with a bigger group of students from church for high school camp.

Mary and David thought the disc golf goals made beautiful music.

We found a peaceful little trail by the lake.

David did some fishing in the creek.

Tuesday we followed the trail to Miwok Village, and had fun discovering that area.

The kids did lots of grinding in the stones to make pancakes.

We went back to the peaceful spot by the lake Wednesday morning.

Thursday morning we returned to Miwok Village. We took the road so that Hannah could ride in the stroller, which was cooler for both of us.

 The kids made lots of treats that they cooked over the fire. We then ate them during a meeting in the roundhouse.

Mary and David got to play frisbee with Joshua and some of the youth which they thought was pretty exciting.

We got a cold treat from Nurse Erin.

 We returned home Friday afternoon, unloaded and turned on the AC, then headed for a cool spot to have dinner while the house cooled off. It was great to spend a lot of time at camp this summer, but it was also nice to be home.

Middle School Camp

We returned to camp on Sunday with a whole crew. In addition to a few middle school campers and a cabin leader from our church, Jonah and Michelle came up to be cabin leaders while Emery was a camper and Mom came up to stay with the boys.

Mary and David were eager to explore new trails.

We spent some time playing in Mom and the boys' cabin.

The kids, especially Mary, enjoyed eating breakfast and lunch on our porch.

We spent time in the craft condo during free time every afternoon.

I had a little quiet time in the evenings after the kids went to bed.

The speaker and mental health volunteer both had kids around Mary and David's ages, so Tuesday morning Mom and I led a hike to Gethsemane Falls with the other families. 

We got to watch Emery, Ezra, and Elias on the rock wall.

The foosball and ping pong tables were a big hit with the kids.

We returned to Gethsemane Falls on Wednesday with just Mom and the boys.

Thursday evening we went down to Sherwood so that Oh My Josh Look at the Size of that Cow could help One in Emillion cook hobo packs.

Biscuits and Davy, StrawMary Shortcake, TyHannahsaurus Rex, and I had fun hanging out and having dinner in the forest. 

We got to roast marshmallows for s'mores after dinner.
