A Delightful Evening

 After much talk throughout the semester, we finally had fish tacos with Jonah and Michelle. Yum!! So good. 

 We also enjoyed some fancy hot chocolate; again, so good. While we sipped our hot beverages, we played Rummy. I hadn't played before and it was a lot of fun.

White Fur Hunt

 Josh and I went Christmas tree hunting yesterday. We each found a  cute little tree for our rooms and decorated them with the mini ornaments Heather gave me a few years ago. My little tree makes my room so festive.

The Day After Thanksgiving

The day after Thanksgiving we set out for our annual Christmas tree hunt. This year was different than previous years because we didn't bother trying to find a tree to cut ourselves. The tree farms we have gone to in the past have all closed, so we decided to look at lots in Visalia. We looked at a couple places, then got lights at Home Depot since we were there. We also decided to get lunch at the hot dog stand outside.

 We went to one more lot after eating and found the tree. It is shorter than ones we've had in the past, but nice and full. Back at the house, Dad, Mom, and I got down Christmas boxes from the attic. We started putting lights up outside, but took a break when everyone got there to take our family Christmas picture.

With 10 people, it's hard to get a picture with everyone looking and smiling, but we managed to end up with one that turned out well. After dinner, we all decorated the tree and drank homemade eggnog.

Thanksgiving

 We kicked off Thanksgiving by participating in the Race Against Hunger. This year we decided to do the 2 mile walk so everyone could join in the fun. It was a beautiful morning for a walk down Main Street.

Dad, Mom, and I returned home afterwards to enjoy a relaxing day working on projects and cooking. The rest of the family joined us just before dinner and we had a lovely Thanksgiving meal together.

Time for Shoveling

 We had our first real snow experience last weekend. It started Friday  when we woke up with snow on the ground and it snowed off and on throughout the day.

 The most snow fell early Sunday morning, so we woke up to about 5 inches of snow.

 Jonah, Josh, and I had our first experience shoveling snow. It was pretty exciting.

Fall Meets Winter

 It snowed again. We are supposed to get dumped on this weekend, but for now, it is enough to be pretty without causing too much trouble.

Birthday Boy

 I drove down to Visalia after work Thursday to celebrate Micah's birthday with the family. The boys enjoyed  some kite flying with Uncle Jonah and Aunt Michelle.

 We had delicious tacos for dinner, then Micah opened his presents.

 This face makes four hours of driving worth it; isn't he the cutest little guy?

 Everyone enjoyed testing out the present from Grandpa and Grandma.

 We had orange danish rolls for dessert, yum!

 Then we got to play with Legos. Jonah, Michelle, and I all got Micah Lego sets, so we each helped build the set we got him. 

Not only was it fun to do something to celebrate Micah's birthday, but it was great to have the whole family together and everyone enjoyed the time.
