Mary and I enjoyed planting lettuce seeds in the greenhouse.

Spring Flowers

We've been enjoying lovely walks in the warm sunshine and admiring the flowers blooming.

Mary is transitioning away from naps, but sometimes she doesn't quite make it through the day.

Sugar Cookies

Mary helped make her first batch of sugar cookies. We mixed up the dough Saturday, rolled and baked cookies Sunday, and iced them Monday, so it was a three day project but we had fun.

Sweet Snuggles

One Month

 David is one month old!

Mary helped me with the photoshoot.

David is a sweet little guy. He loves being held, especially mostly upright, and is generally pretty content. 

He can already lift his head up briefly on his tummy and likes to lift his head up and look around if you hold against your chest or in the baby carrier, so you have to be ready to support him when he loses control.

He is a wonderful addition to our family and we couldn't be happier to have him.

Little Prep Chef

Mary loves helping in the kitchen. It started with making coffee with Joshua, but now she also likes to help me cook. We haven't done much together in the kitchen for awhile because I haven't been cooking, but we had a great time prepping asparagus for dinner the other day. She learned how to snap them into little pieces and thought it was great fun.

We've also been enjoying the view from the kitchen as our daffodils are blooming.

Mom to the Rescue

Okay, so we didn't actually need rescuing, but there's nothing like having a baby to make you want your mom around. Mom stayed for a week after the rest of the family left, and it was sure nice to have her company and help.

David took everything in stride, but I think he liked the extra attention with Grandma around too.

Thursday was Mom's birthday and we were honored to celebrate with her by having a special dinner and creme brulee for dessert.

Just before leaving, Mom hid notes from Natalie, Emery, and Ezra around the house. It was so fun to find them over the next couple days.

David Scott

Heather did a newborn photoshoot for us while she was here and got some great shots of sweet little David.

We tried to get a few pictures of Mary and David together, but they were a little wiggly. Heather got a good one of Mary though.

We love our little guy.

Chandler Family Visit

My family arrived for a visit and to meet David on Wednesday. First things first, everyone had to get a good view of the new little guy.

Everyone was staying in an AirBnB close by, so we spent most of our time there. I didn't have my camera at the other house, so all the pictures for this post are from Heather and Michelle. The next few days consisted of lots of baby holding and visiting along with good food and walks in the sunshine.

Mary has discovered that she loves to color and was excited to get to do so with her auntie and cousins during the visit.

Uncle Ray and Aunt Joanna came down Friday and Saturday to join the fun.

 The weather was surprisingly warm and sunny for February and we took advantage of it with walks, including one to a nearby park for a game of soccer.

After a few packed but too short days, they headed home early Sunday morning.

Valentine's Day

I cooked my first meal since delivery to make pink heart shaped pancakes for our traditional Valentine's Day breakfast.

Mary and David got new outfits from Grandma for the occasion.

 Joshua brought home sushi so we could enjoy a delicious dinner at home.

After Dave and Gayle returned from their dinner out, we all enjoyed creme brulee together for dessert.
