Hannah's Birthday

Hannah's birthday was Thursday, and we had fun celebrating with her.

I made her an applesauce cake. Mary suggested that we decorate it with butterflies and a number of other things that didn't make it. Hannah got to try macaroni for her birthday dinner before having her cake.

She threw it on the floor a couple of times before deciding it was good to eat.

 It was a sweet day with a sweet girl.

One Year

Hannah is one!

She loves to clap her hands and play games. She pulls up and pushes things around the house, like chairs in the dining room.

She likes tickles and getting thrown in the air.

Hannah has six teeth and likes eating at the table with us, especially when she gets to eat fruit or Cheerios. She asks for food by hitting the side of her head, which results in quite a mess when she has food on her hand.

She loves bath time and getting to explore the playroom. Books are one of her favorite toys right now.

Sometimes she scoots backwards.

We are so thankful for little Hannah!

Outdoor Time

We've been enjoying the lovely weather lately by spending extra time outside.

The kids helped me start taking out the summer plants.

Our favorite part of walking to the park is passing through the bamboo tunnel.

Hannah got to explore the grass for the first time.

The World Series

 We had a fun picnic in the living room to watch the beginning of the first game of the World Series.

Pumpkin Decorating

The kids had lots of fun decorating pumpkins at church Wednesday evening.

Joshua's Birthday

Our final day of vacation was Joshua's birthday. We started the day with a new sticky bun recipe that was delicious.

I also made a rhubarb pie.

 Joshua had lots of help opening gifts. We had a lovely day celebrating at home.

Fall Vacation

We've been enjoying vacation time this fall. Dave and Gayle came for a visit to kick things off. Gayle brought her sewing machine and some fall fabrics, and we had a fun sewing project.

We took advantage of the changing weather and walked to the park.

The kids and I spent a day at Mom and Dad's house. One of the highlights was going on a walk and taking turns pushing each other in the stroller with Emery.

A lion princess

We borrowed the pop-up trailer from Dad and Mom and headed up to Sequoia for a camping trip. The first stop was Lodgepole where we ate lunch on the trail to Tokopah Falls.

It was cold and cloudy, but beautiful.

The kids loved this part of the trail with all the rocks.

Mary has been wanting to hike to the end of this trail and see the waterfall ever since we hiked part of the way in August with the Bushway girls. She was so excited to finally make it.

We camped at Potwisha and enjoyed a quiet morning at the campsite.

We packed up and returned home in time for lunch.

 The rest of our vacation was spent at home. Dave came down to visit a couple more times, and we did some organizing, shopping, and yard work. There was even some time for relaxing and reading. And, of course, we also ate a lot of delicious food because what vacation would be complete without that?
