Easter Eggs

We had fun coloring Easter eggs. We carefully used raw eggs, and it's fun to see all the pretty colors when I use eggs.

Welcome Spring

We found our first flowers of spring.

Mary and David wanted to take a picture with the flowers.

The following day we celebrated the first day of spring with lemon bread.

We hiked to Gethsemane Falls. It has a lot of water right now.

Happy Birthday

I had a lovely birthday Tuesday. We started with birthday breakfast and gifts from Joshua and the kids.

Dad, Mom, Heather, Micah, Natalie, Michelle, Emery, Ezra, and Elias came up for the day. Michelle and Natalie made ginger cookies after lunch.

We went on a cold, misty walk.

We had shrimp pasta for festive birthday dinner.

The kids had fun playing Simon Says before gifts and cheesecake.

Snowshoeing

We had another storm come through bringing snow, so Sunday afternoon Christina, Hannah, and I went snowshoeing. It was my first time snowshoeing, and it was fun.

We hiked up to Sugar Pine road and had a great view.

The next day, the kids and I followed our snowshoe tracks.

They were excited to get to see the view too.

We took some rest breaks along the way.

 Finally we spotted the motivation for our quest - Hannah's shoe had fallen off unnoticed the day before. We were excited to have found it and enjoyed another beautiful hike.

Mom's Birthday Week

Joshua had a conference for work, so the kids and I went down to spend a few days at Dad and Mom's house. As a fun bonus, we arrived on Mom's birthday. We had birthday lunch for her at the Nickells' house.

We made bagels. The kids helped shape them and watched them get boiled. Then we all got to try them Thursday morning.

Mary built this house.

 The girls had some reading time. It was a pleasant visit.

Lemon Ginger Marmalade

 We almost used up all of our supply of jam and were facing the shocking possibility of buying jam from the grocery store. Thankfully, we were saved because Dave and Gayle gave us a bunch of Meyer lemons from their tree, so I made lemon ginger marmalade.

Happy Valentine's Day

The kids got to open a special package from Grandpa and Grandma Kerr Valentine's day morning.

They were excited.

Joshua went to work a little later than usual so he could join us for pink heart-shaped pancakes.

Hannah got to have her first one and was a big fan.

Superbowl

The kids had fun helping me make muddy buddies for the Superbowl party.

Cam and Tiffany invited the CC staff over for the big game, and we had fun eating snacks, working on a puzzle, visiting, and even watching some of the game.

 Unfortunately, the muddy buddies were too popular for their own good and disappeared before halftime. Maybe next year we'll have to make a double batch.

Sledding with the Cousins

Dad, Mom, and Michelle and her kids came up Saturday for a snow day. We had a cozy lunch together before heading out.

It was Mary and David's first time sledding on disks, and they loved it. David especially couldn't get enough.

Snack time was also popular.

The kids decided to make a cousin train. They ended up getting all five of them down the hill together.

 It was a lot of fun.

Snowy Days

We continue to enjoy living somewhere with some snow. We did cozy baking by making bread bowls.

We love the view from our dining room window.

Mary and David have been having fun crafting with their matching craft bins.

We take lots of walks in the afternoon.
