Getting Caught Up

 Here's a post to catch everyone up on what we've been doing since the honeymoon. We returned to camp the day before the summer staff arrived for O-week, so we jumped right into camp life and things have been crazy. Summer at camp is always a busy time, but the beginning of summer is particularly crazy because everyone is learning as they go. We have a good staff though and overall things are going  well. 

 We got to enjoy breakfast burritos in Sherwood during O-week. Our first week of actual camp was Family Camp. On Thursday we had a Lord of the Rings theme night. Gandalf and Bilbo met everyone in the dining hall to tell the terrible news that the rings had been reforged. The family campers had to find the rings and pass through many dangerous obstacles so they could throw them into the mountain of fire.

The families enjoyed the game and the rest of the week. Week two was Jr High, Sherwood, and AIM camps and those went well. My favorite parts about Jr High were that Cory Pina was the speaker and he brought his family for the week so it was good to visit with them and the crazy night game on the last night. This week we are running Family Camp again. It's kind of crazy that after this week is over, we will be halfway through the summer. In some ways it feels like it is going by quickly, but in others it already feels like forever. But I'm glad we are here and part of what God is doing at camp this summer.
