We went camping with my family this week at Horse Creek Campground. Heather and Michelle had scoped it out and made reservations so we had campsites with shade and a great view.
Jonah and Michelle spotted a red tail hawk nearby.
We all enjoyed lots of hammock time.
We stuck with the same meal schedule as our camping trip last fall, so Mom and Michelle had dinner Friday night. We had spaghetti, followed by smores. Gotta love a good campfire.
Saturday morning we drove up to Three Rivers and went on a short and beautiful walk through the wildflowers. There were a lot more flowers than I was expecting.

After lunch back at the campsite, the Nickells headed out for some fishing while the rest of us relaxed at camp. When they returned, we made a trip to Reimer's for ice cream.
The guys went across the street and got exotic jerky; Joshua picked wild boar. It was pretty good. Back at camp, we made dinner with the Nickells and had another campfire.
It rained during the night and in the morning we woke up to some beautiful clouds.
However, since things were wet at the campsite, we didn't have any dry wood for a fire, and some of the Nickells were feeling sick, we decided to pack things up and head to Dad and Mom's for breakfast. While we were doing that, the sun came out and a lot of the clouds cleared up. What a pretty day.
Back at Dad and Mom's, we enjoyed the fresh morning and a delicious pancake breakfast. On the one hand, it was unfortunate that we ended our trip earlier than planned, but it was nice to get home and unpack with time left to relax and enjoy the afternoon. And the camping trip was a great one.
