Finally. Gayle and I went to visit Carol on Monday and we picked tomatoes in her garden. I have been hoping all summer to get some tomatoes to can, so I was pretty excited. On Saturday, I went jogging with Heather, then we braved the spiders (and mostly just spiderwebs) to pick the tomatoes on her plants. I added a couple tomatoes from our plant and ended up with a total of about five pounds. I made a third of this salsa recipe, using the seasoning recipe to make ours from scratch. This was also our thirtieth for the second three months.
We ended up with five half pints, with just a little left that we tried with lunch today. It was pretty tasty.
