V&A

Our field trip today was to the Victoria and Albert museum. It was an eclectic mix of paintings, sculpture, photographs, jewelry, stained glass, clothes, textiles, and just about everything else that might be in a museum. I was excited to be able to take pictures finally. In the main entrance, there was a crazy glass sculpture that weighs almost 4 tons. There were some neat things there. My favorites were a mosaic of a tree made of pictures of the tree, a reproduction of Trajan's column which was huge, and a sculpture by Bernini. Trajan's column was in a room full of reproductions, it was crowded but cool. Most of the museum went pretty quickly. We came home afterwards and Darrin made a delicious lamb dinner. He and Charity got things started soon after we got back. We had leg of lamb, roasted potatoes with onions and sausage, green beans, and sauteed mushrooms. Juan added mashed potatoes and Jenn contributed wine. Everything was fabulous and we enjoyed every bite. Ashley made molten brownies for dessert. She wasn't planning to make them molten, but our baking situation is no good, we only have one small round glass pan to bake in and the oven doesn't bake evenly. So, it is quite a challenge. However, the brownies were delicious.
